Department of Philosophy, University of Oviedo, Spain
A cooperation agreement between the EthicsLab and the Department of Philosophy of the University of Oviedo was signed in 2018 with the aim of creating a learning community among students and professors coming from both institutions. This partnership is animated by an intercultural spirit: we believe that the interchange of ideas and experiences can join us in developing better ways of common development and in looking for solutions, in the field of practical philosophy, to face the big challenges of our times, in the realms of environment, politics, health, economy, and law. Noelia Bueno (Ass. Prof.) coordinates the agreement in Oviedo together with Claudia Delgado (PhD Student), who is currently also an EthicsLab Fellow dedicated to the philosophy of poverty. EthicsLab and the Oviedo department of philosophy are exploring on working on common research projects, scientific exchanges including sending and receiving students and professors to teach and learn, publishing together and organizing scientific and academic events dedicated to improve our capacities. As immediate concrete outcome of this new exciting partnership, EthicsLab will host Claudia Delgado as it first non-African EthicsLab Graduate Fellow while Oviedo will host Ernest Mbonda as A Faculty Fellow for the Fall 2019.
